Arts for Learning Receives Grant from the Buckingham Foundation

Indianapolis – April 25, 2016…Arts for Learning received a $2,500 grant from the Buckingham Foundation to support the “Cloud Gallery,” an expansion of the Fresh StART Indy program. This grant will help fund a series of printed tiles designed by students and residents of the Near Eastside of Indianapolis that relate to the “Cloud Observatory,” a public artwork located in the St. Clair Place neighborhood. The “Cloud Observatory” was conceived of by students at Indianapolis Public Schools Thomas D. Gregg School 15 and created by Arts for Learning teaching artist Meredith Brickell in 2015, the pilot year of Fresh StART.

As the oldest and largest provider of professional arts in education programs in the state, Arts for Learning works with more than 60 teaching artists who provide performances, workshops and residencies to schools, libraries, parks and community organizations. Arts for Learning reaches more than 67,000 Indiana children and youth every year.
