“We don’t just learn by books. Arts for Learning helps kids that learn by music, learn by dancing…”
– Jacqueline Houston, 2nd Grade Teacher
Arts for Learningis the premier provider of arts education programs for youth in Indiana. Each year, we partner with schools and community organizations throughout the state to engage approximately 40,000 youth in the arts. With our roster of teaching artists, we offer creative learning experiences to empower youth and transform education.
To empower youth and expand their learning through creative arts experiences.
A future where all youth can engage in quality arts learning experiences that nurture creativity, build cultural understanding, and enhance the development of their learning and life skills.
Arts for Learning values the right of every young person to have access to the arts and the participatory experiences that unlock minds, expand lives, and fulfill creative and intellectual potential.
Bringing the arts to Indiana classrooms for more than 50 years
Since 1961, Arts for Learning has distinguished itself as Indiana’s premier provider of arts education programs for kids.
Arts for Learning reaches more than 40,000 children a year through our unique, quality arts in education programs. But our success didn’t happen overnight. It came from years of smart leadership, a devoted staff, and an exceptional pool of teaching artists dedicated to helping kids reach their creative and intellectual potentials. As Arts for Learning evolves, our mission stays the same: empowering children to achieve their creative and intellectual potential through arts in education.
Today, we’re proud to say that we’re Indiana’s largest and oldest arts in education organization. Much of our history of success is due to the outstanding support we’ve received nationally and from our local community.
