Arts for Learning is now accepting nominations for the 2015 Arts Advocate of the Year! Arts for Learning annually recognizes an award winner who demonstrates dedication to arts integration in their classrooms and schools.
From our 2014 winner, Jenny McAllister:
Being selected as the 2014 Arts for Learning Arts Champion was a wonderful honor. This allowed me to share with others the value of implementing a curriculum for children filled with art and music!! Showing the ways music and art can foster a life-long love of the arts is very important. My school supports and encourages activities involving artists from various disciplines allowing me to expose children to things they might not otherwise be a part of.
As a result of this award, the ability to promote public awareness of the influence of arts on the lives of our children is greatly enhanced. This award has brought about a recognition of the importance of an arts related curriculum in our children’s education. I am grateful for this opportunity to highlight the arts in our schools and fully support the program of the recognition of Champions of the Arts in the Indianapolis community.
Consider nominating a colleague to be Arts for Learning Teacher of the Year to receive complimentary programming, Arts for Learning gear, and recognition in front of your school and in the media. Nominations can be made here and are being accepted until March 15.
