About the artist

Robin Pease incorporates the art of theater to promote and enhance literacy, social studies, arts, and cultural awareness. Her background includes a Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts in Theatre, experience as a professional actor and educator/consultant for art councils, theatre organizations, and educational institutions all over the nation. Robin has written theater pieces, resource guides, developed hands-on workshops to promote theatre, music, dance, and culture and gets children of all ages to do the same!  Her CD The Talkative Turtle And Other Tales has fans all over the world.

The Great Law of Peace

Performance

Meet Hiawatha, Columbus, Ponce de Leon, Jacques Cartier, Walter Raleigh and Henry Hudson as they struggle to create laws for the “New World.” These stories will provide a window into the creation of the United States Constitution. Students will understand the compromises that were made amongst the framers and will see how the New World devised a new form of governance, based on a framework developed by the Native Americans.

The Four Directions: Native American Stories

Performance

In this performance, students will Meet Hegeota a ‘real Indian’. They will learn some Mohawk language, sing a chant, and participate in a story as they explore the four directions of the compass rose and discover character education and some of the practices of the Native American People.
