About the artist
Ronne is a Florida native with a background in dance spanning over 20 years. Her earliest exposure to dance was at the Orlando School of Cultural Dance. She was also a company member of Kuumba in Tampa Fla. and Adefua in Seattle, Wa. For the past 15 years she has traveled extensively to study West African dance under the instruction of countless masters in this field. She has taught several classes for Indiana University and was a lead instructor for two years for the African American Dance workshops at IU Bloomington. She is the Director and Choreographer of the adult African dance company Epiphany Dance Collective whose performances have allowed them to travel all over the state to promote exposure of this art form. She continues to work as a choreographer and instructor with various professional companies and non for profit organizations such as The Children’s Museum, Walker Theater, and the Indiana State Museum. She attended Indiana University where she obtained a degree in Fine Arts. Currently, she teaches World technique at Butler University.
