Arts for Learning Announces Grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust
Indianapolis, IN – August 8, 2018… Arts for Learning has received a two-year grant totaling $75,000 from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust. This grant will be used to implement yearlong arts and literacy residencies in four Indianapolis Public Schools. In addition, teachers will receive several days of professional development in arts integration and a book will be created of the student work.
“Nina Pulliam believed in the power of education to transform lives. As stewards of her Trust, we are proud to support Arts for Learning, helping our community’s young students boost their literacy through arts-based learning,” said Trustee Kent E. Agness with the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.
“We have seen the impact that these yearlong residencies have in schools and are thrilled at the opportunity to have them in Indianapolis Public Schools thanks to this grant from the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust,” said Arts for Learning President & CEO JoEllen Florio Rossebo.
The grant to Arts for Learning represents one of 20 awarded to organizations in Indiana by the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust during the first of two grant cycles this year. Since the Trust began its grant making in 1998, it has awarded more than $297 million to 975 organizations in its home states of Indiana and Arizona.
