Arts for Learning stands in solidarity with the Black community against intolerance and injustice. We’ve made a commitment to use the arts to educate, inform, and heal our community now and in the future. For this reason, we will also use our Emergency Relief Fund to help amplify the voices of our teaching artists of color. We’re developing a project that will allow our artists to be heard and use their voice to express themselves in their various art forms while educating the community about racism and equality.
We are asking for your help to support us and our teaching artists’ work during this time. Arts for Learning currently supports 108 professional artists in the field, our roster is comprised of both solo artists and ensembles. Arts for Learning programs occur wherever learning takes place and our push to make the arts accessible is greater now than it has ever been. Our staff is working diligently with our teaching artists to be innovative in our approach to continue our work. We are requesting donations for our organization to continue providing creative educational experiences to Indiana youth. Donating to Arts for Learning during this time will allow us to:
1. Develop a project to amplify the voices of our black and other teaching artists of color.
2. Continue providing take-home instructional art kits (ARTables) to Indianapolis Families and youth with limited internet access.
3. Enrich neighborhoods and communities in the city with public art yard signs (Signs of Solidarity – S.O.S).
4. Keep both our teaching artists and our staff working hard to further our mission of empowering children to achieve their creative and intellectual potential through arts-integrated education
