Arts for Learning Receives Grant from City of Shelbyville City Council
Indianapolis – November 20, 2017… Arts for Learning received a $5,000 grant from the City of Shelbyville’s Racino funds, which are administered by the Blue River Community Foundation. The grant will support a Fresh StART project at Hendricks Elementary. Students will engage in Arts for Learning workshops that focus on creating a safe and vibrant community through collaboration and art. The lead teaching artist will install a public artwork near the school that will be revealed at a culminating community event.
As the oldest and largest provider of professional arts in education programs in the state, Arts for Learning works with more than 60 teaching artists who provide performances, workshops and residencies to schools, libraries, parks and community organizations. Arts for Learning reaches nearly 50,000 Indiana children and youth every year.
