What to Expect at Chocolate Fest!

By Taylor Fengya

What should I expect this year? Even if you have been to Chocolate Fest in previous years, this year’s event is one that you don’t want to miss! We are holding the event at the Dallara IndyCar Factory which is an entirely new venue to Chocolate Fest. Dallara’s open space, high ceilings, and tall windows will make it a very comfortable atmosphere for everyone! We will have multiple vendors from previous years return, but we are excited to welcome a large number of new vendors. The vendor line-up is very diverse, and we are sure that everyone will find something to enjoy!

Is this event kid-friendly? As in previous years at Chocolate Fest, we will be bringing back “ArtZone” to give children the opportunity to work with professional Arts for Learning teaching artists at multiple art stations. Children can grab some chocolate milk generously donated by Prairie Farms, work on projects guided by professional artists, and walk through Dallara’s Interactive Zone. Don’t worry—Dallara’s Interactive Zone will be open for everyone! To see what Dallara’s Interactive Zone has to offer, check it out here. To view Arts for Learning’s teaching artist roster, click here.

What about adults? Chocolate Fest is not just a kid-friendly event, but it is adult-friendly as well. There will be a separate room for beer and wine vendors at Chocolate Fest this year. Those 21 and older may choose to taste beer and wine samples and even purchase a larger glass to enjoy while at the event. For those adults who don’t care for alcohol but prefer coffee, Hubbard & Cravens will be sampling their delicious freshly-roasted coffee as well.

What exactly is Chocolate Fest? First and foremost, Chocolate Fest is Arts for Learning’s largest annual fundraiser. At Arts for Learning, our mission is to empower children to achieve their creative and intellectual potential through arts in education. In the ArtZone area, your children will have the opportunity to meet and work with a handful of Arts for Learning teaching artists. These artists provide high-quality fine arts programs, residencies, and workshops to schools around Indiana each year. If you happen to meet an artist at Chocolate Fest, feel free to ask them about what they do for us! They would love to tell you!

When is it again? We would love for you to come to Dallara on Saturday, October 17 from 12-4pm and taste delicious chocolate desserts and delicacies from over 20 vendors! Please enter through the main door located at the front of Dallara. Tickets will go on sale on Saturday, September 5. To eliminate long lines and having to pay an extra $5 at the door, we recommend that you buy your tickets ahead of time! As always, be sure to check our social media sites for the latest #ChocolateFest15 updates and news!
