Arts for Learning Receives Grant from the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation
Indianapolis – August 23, 2017… Arts for Learning has received $25,000 from the Christel DeHaan Family Foundation in honor of the children and families of Christel House. The majority of this funding will be used for general operating support of Arts for Learning; the remaining will support our school partners at the Christel House Academies.
As the oldest and largest provider of professional arts in education programs in the state, Arts for Learning works with more than 60 teaching artists who provide performances, workshops and residencies to schools, libraries, parks and community organizations. Arts for Learning reaches nearly 50,000 Indiana children and youth every year.

Arts for Learning Receives Grant from City of Shelbyville City Council
Indianapolis – November 20, 2017… Arts for Learning received a $5,000 grant from the City of Shelbyville’s Racino funds, which are administered by the Blue River Community Foundation. The grant will support a Fresh StART project at Hendricks Elementary. Students will engage in Arts for Learning workshops that focus on creating a safe and vibrant community through collaboration and art. The lead teaching artist will install a public artwork near the school that will be revealed at a culminating community event.
As the oldest and largest provider of professional arts in education programs in the state, Arts for Learning works with more than 60 teaching artists who provide performances, workshops and residencies to schools, libraries, parks and community organizations. Arts for Learning reaches nearly 50,000 Indiana children and youth every year.

Arts for Learning Receives a Community Crime Prevention Grant from The Indianapolis Foundation, a CICF affiliate
Indianapolis – November 20, 2017… Arts for Learning received a $10,000 grant in phase II of the Community Crime Prevention Grant Program. The grant program is funded from public resources allocated annually by Indianapolis City-County Council and is administered by The Indianapolis Foundation, a CICF affiliate. The grant will support a storytelling project at the Marion County Jail and Marion County Juvenile Detention Center. Throughout the course of the project, young inmates will engage in workshops with various teaching artists, including a storyteller and an illustrator, as a means of self-expression and personal growth through the arts.

Indianapolis – November 20, 2017… Arts for Learning received a $2,500 grant from the Pacers Foundation. These funds will support the Arts for Healing program, which brings arts activities to the patients of local children’s hospitals.

Arts for Learning’s Art Riot! Fundraiser
Indianapolis – August 22, 2017… Arts for Learning’s second annual Art Riot! fundraiser is taking place on November 2nd at the Indiana Landmarks in downtown Indianapolis. Art Riot! will feature an evening of interactive performances and artistic activities. Attendees will experience the many talents of our creative artists in a cabaret-style setting while enjoying hors d’oeuvres, wine, and local craft beer. Tickets are $50 with a special $25 ticket offer for teachers. Tickets will go on sale on September 22nd and more information on how to purchase than can be found there.
All proceeds for Chocolate Fest benefit Arts for Learning, the oldest and largest arts in education organization in the state, serving more than 61,000 students every year. Arts for Learning provides quality programming through our professional teaching artists in schools, community centers, afterschool programs and more.
