Arts for Learning Celebrates Indiana Digital Learning Month with Digital Game Design Residency at Several Locations
Indianapolis – February 19, 2014 … Arts for Learning is embracing Indiana Digital Learning Month with the implementation of its “Digital Game Design Residency” in several Indiana learning institutions including St. Roch Catholic School in Indianapolis and Hamilton County Juvenile Services Center in Noblesville. The program, ideal for grades 3-12, introduces students to the basics of rudimentary computer game design through a series of instructional workshops spanning over several sessions. The program was developed thanks to the support of generous donors including The Indianapolis Star Season for Sharing Fund, a Fund of CICF, The National Endowment for the Arts, and Young Audiences, Inc.
“With the ever-changing dynamic of technology, digital learning is more important than ever in ensuring that Indiana students succeed as they move forward in school and in life,” says JoEllen Florio Rossebo, President and CEO of Arts for Learning.
Arts for Learning closes the “aspiration gap” in Indiana schools and communities by introducing children to the arts and making connections that unlock their creative and intellectual potential. Arts for Learning serves as Indiana’s expert on the arts in education and has been serving Indiana schools and communities for more than 50 years.
