Arts for Learning’s early childhood program, Young-at-Arts, provides programs for children in preschool and Kindergarten settings. We have a select group of age appropriate teaching artists with training and experience in meeting the early learning needs of toddlers, preK, and Kindergarten ages. These programs are designed with guidance of experts in early childhood education to assure age- appropriateness and meaningful connections to student learning.
Toddlers though non-verbal are learning at a rapid rate. Early stimulation sets the stage for how children will learn and interact with others throughout life. The Lullaby Program is designed to stimulate brain development through music. Through a series of 15-minute musical performances right before naptime, a musician will move from room to room and perform lullaby music to introduce live music while easing young children’s transition to sleep. This program can be adapted for infants. Schedule a Lullaby Program at your preschool center now by contacting your regional representative.
WELCOME TO LEARNING
This program is designed to increase student participation and engagement early in the students’ school experience. These five-day residencies begin with a planning meeting between teachers and artists to design lessons that meet both academic and artistic goals. The program culminates with a reflection meeting to assess the experience and share observations of students’ learning, as well as an event where families are given the opportunity to experience the arts by viewing the students’ work or a performance. Schedule a Welcome to Learning Residency with your Kindergarten class now by contacting your regional representative.
