Lively percussion music, energetic songs and exciting dances will show students the unique mix of cultures that have African influences in Latin America through an interactive presentation and activity. Using instruments such as conga drums, ashikos, maracas, shekeres and cowbells, Iris Rosa (lead dancer) and Tony Artis and Andre Rosa-Artis (lead drummers) will demonstrate dance and music. Dance styles presented include Rumba from Cuba, Bomba from Puerto Rico and Merengue from the Dominican Republic.
This program meets standards in Social Studies, South/Central Amer. & Caribbean Culture, and World History & Culture.

The fees listed in this catalog represent approximately half of the actual cost of producing and delivering these programs to our community. These fees are subsidized through fundraising, grants, and donations and with support from many organizations, corporations and individuals.
