STEAM-ing Up the Classroom with the Arts!

By Cassie Grooms, Event Marketing Intern

Have you ever heard of STEAM? No, not vaporized water, the learning program! STEAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. It currently used in classrooms across the United States to help develop a strong foundation of the arts in education from an early age. When a teacher uses STEAM, they are linking non-art related subjects, such as science, with the arts.

Parents are encouraged to continue the STEAM method while at home by asking their students questions about what they are doing in school and encouraging creative thinking to complete their tasks for school and around the house. STEAM has the potential to make a huge difference in the lives of our students, and hopefully it will expand into more classrooms as we move forward. What do you think about this STEAM method? Tell us in a comment below!
