It’s no secret that we have some pretty incredible teaching artists on our roster. This week, a few of them took home some awards. We’d like to show our support by recognizing them here, too! Below you will find three artists to congratulate – Bonnie Maurer, Everett Greene, and Lou Ann Homan.
- Bonnie Maurer was highlighted as the March 2014 Poetry Feature by the Wabash Watershed, an online journal focusing on poetry, conversation, and news by George Kalamaras, Indiana Poet Laureate. Read the Bonnie’s interview here. To learn about Bonnie’s teaching programs, visit her artist page.
- Jazz musician Everett Greene received the Jordan College of the Arts’s inaugural Legend Awards from Butler University on March 18. The prestigious award was given to Greene to “honor individuals whose legendary work has had a deep and lasting impact on the artistic and social fabric of Indianapolis.” Read more about the ceremony here and visit his artist page to learn about his teaching performance.
- Storyteller Lou Ann Homan received the Mayor’s Arts and Humanities Award from Angola Mayor Dick Hickman on March 20th. The award was given to Homan in appreciation of her lifetime of storytelling and writing. See her acceptance of the award here and check her artist page for available programs.
We thank each of you for your commitment to Arts for Learning and arts education. Congratulations!
