Job Description

Learn what it means to be an teaching artist.

We believe in empowering children through arts in education.

“Our task is to educate (our students’) whole being so they can face the future. We may not see the future, but they will and our job is to help them make something of it.”
Sir Ken Robinson

Arts for Learning is a nonprofit organization that provides arts-integrated workshops, performances, and residencies to schools and community centers throughout Indiana. We contract over 60 teaching artists, locally and nationally, to provide thousands of hours in arts programming each year. We unite the creativity of artists with the educational expertise of teachers to provide an engaging and motivating learning experience for children.

We contract teaching artists, paid on a program basis and not as full-time employees. Pay is dependent on type of program and/or ensemble size. Average pay is $60 per 45-minute program.

Submissions to become a teaching artist with Arts for Learning are accepted on a rolling basis.
