Welcome, Educators!
At Arts for Learning Indiana, we’re dedicated to supporting educators by bringing creative arts experiences to Hoosier schools and the broader community.
With our roster of professional Teaching Artists, we deliver hands-on workshops and in-depth residencies directly in your classroom, featuring programs designed to align with curriculum, grade-appropriate learning standards, and social-emotional learning competencies.
Our Teaching Artists also support educators by modeling effective ways to teach a variety of subjects through the arts. For sustained, in-depth residencies of three sessions or more, Teaching Artists work directly with classroom teachers to co-create individualized workshops tailored to the classroom’s specific needs.
At the end of the residency, interactive performances are an opportunity to present a program to an entire school community. Let Arts for Learning bring creativity back to your classroom!
Our Programs

HANDS-ON WORKSHOPS
Workshops are led by Teaching Artists who engage students in 45 minute hands-on creative arts experiences in the classroom (up to 30 students). Workshops invite students to connect an artform and content area through learning a dance, song, craft, visual expression, or cultural element in a way that fosters deeper understanding.

INTERACTIVE PERFORMANCES
Performances are large assemblies (up to 300 students) led by Teaching Artists who engage students in a 45 minute high-quality, interactive show. Performances invite students to experience a professional dance, theater, storytelling, or music program right in their school. In addition to in-person performances, we offer livestream and pre-recorded options.

IN-DEPTH RESIDENCIES
Residency is a sequential learning series of three or more visits in which a Teaching Artist works with the same class in a focused setting. Residencies are curriculum-based and begin with a planning meeting between the classroom teacher/site coordinator and the Teaching Artist. Together, they establish goals and expectations of the residency and often close with a reflection meeting to discuss the outcomes.
