Music, Hands-On Art-Making & More Scheduled During Free Arts for Learning Indiana Open House on June 27

INDIANAPOLIS — Arts for Learning Indiana celebrates its 65th anniversary by opening the doors to its brand-new home on Saturday, June 27 for a free, four-hour, family-friendly event. The Arts for Learning Indiana Open House presented by Glick Philanthropies will be held at 3328 East 10th Street, along the newly designated East 10th Street Emerging Arts District corridor.

“Our Open House is an invitation to the community to step inside our mission and see it in action,” said Arts for Learning Indiana president & CEO Anya Aslanova. “It’s more than a celebration of our new home – it’s a reflection of what’s possible when creativity is placed at the heart of learning. When young people are given access to the
arts, they don’t just learn – they connect, they grow, and they begin to see new possibilities for themselves.

“This day is about celebrating that transformation together.”

The designed-for-all-ages event, set for 11 am to 3 pm, will showcase musical performances, hands-on art-making stations, exhibitions of artwork by current students, alumni, and Teaching Artists, public mural creation, sidewalk art, and more. Teaching Artists scheduled to perform include Cathy Morris, Village of Stories, Squirrel Butter, Beatriz Vasquez, Jingo de la Rosa, Matt Deloughery, and Omar Rashan.

Founded in 1961, Arts for Learning Indiana – originally known as Young Audiences – is the premier provider of arts education programs for youth throughout the state. Arts for Learning partners with schools, libraries, parks, and other community organizations to deliver an estimated 40,000 hours of high-quality arts education experiences annually.

Its 70-plus professional Teaching Artists present vibrant performances, hands-on workshops, and in-depth residencies throughout Indiana. Arts for Learning also supports educators through professional development that helps integrate the arts into diverse learning environments in powerful and practical ways.

“As we celebrate 65 years of Arts for Learning, our Open House is both a reflection of our legacy and a bold step toward the future,” Aslanova continued. “For generations, we’ve seen how the arts unlock potential in young people. Now, in our new home, we’re expanding that impact so even more students can discover their voice, their
creativity and their place in the world.”

The open house will be held rain or shine. Free parking will be available at IPS’ Brookside School, 3150 East 10th Street, or curbside throughout the area. Food and beverages will be available for purchase from on-site vendors.

Sponsors include Glick Philanthropies, Allen Whitehill Clowes Charitable Foundation, John Boner Neighborhood Centers, Audrey’s Place Furniture, and 1000 Words Gallery.
