Arts for Learning Indiana Announces Anya Aslanova as New President

The Arts for Learning Indiana board of directors are pleased to announce Anya Aslanova as the next President. On July 6, 2021, Aslanova will assume the role following the retirement of current President and CEO JoEllen Florio Rossebo. Aslanova brings over 20 years’ experience working in arts administration and leadership, marketing, fundraising, and program development.

Previously as the Director of Educational Development at the Indianapolis Art Center, Aslanova led the strategic plan of the education program resulting in increased revenue and the development of new audiences and programs. In her most recent position at Park Tudor School, Aslanova oversaw the school’s donor database conversion and developed a plan for long-term database management. Her experience combined with her deep passion for the arts excited members of the search committee. “From the first interview, she impressed everyone with her confidence, understanding of the organization, experience in strategic planning and marketing, and most importantly her passion for arts integrated education,” said Board Chair Susan Oliver. “As we celebrate 60 years as an organization this year, the board is excited to see Anya expand Arts for Learning’s reach now and into the future.”

Born and raised in Kyiv, Ukraine, an important educational and cultural center in Eastern Europe, Aslanova came to the United States as a high-school exchange student. After earning a prestigious scholarship, she went on to attend Anderson University in Indiana where she received a B.A. in Visual Communications and Marketing. She later taught art and design classes as an adjunct faculty member for Anderson University. In 2006, she became a United States citizen and now lives in Indianapolis with her husband, two sons, and mother.

“As a parent and a community member, I have long admired Arts for Learning and appreciated its influence on our community, especially on the many young people who have been impacted through its programs.” said Aslanova. “It is my privilege to work with the staff, teaching artists, and the board as we continue to grow Arts for Learning’s footprint in the community. I am excited and honored to be given the opportunity to build upon the legacy of this dynamic institution.”
