Arts for Learning Announces 2016 Arts Champion
Indianapolis – May 4, 2016…Arts for Learning announced its 2016 Arts Champion on Monday, May 2. The awardee is Jana Weeks, the Arts Teacher at Riley Elementary and Benjamin Franklin Elementary in Terre Haute, IN. Weeks was honored for her advocacy of the arts and her advancement of creative learning opportunities in the classroom.
Arts for Learning’s programming in Terre Haute is supported by Managed Health Services. Arts for Learning is the oldest and largest provider of professional arts in education programs in the state, and works with more than 60 teaching artists who provide performances, workshops and residencies to schools, libraries, parks and community organizations. Arts for Learning reaches more than 67,000 Indiana children and youth every year.
