Arts for Learning Receives Indiana Arts Commission Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites Grant
Indianapolis – December 14, 2016…Arts for Learning received a $3,000 Arts in the Parks and Historic Sites grant from the Indiana Arts Commission and the Indiana Department of Natural Resources. This funding will support Arts for Learning’s “Indiana’s Living Folklife Traditions” program at McCormick’s Creek State Park. The program will consist of monthly dance and songwriting workshops from May through June led by Arts for Learning teaching artist group Fiddle ’n’ Feet, culminating in a community dance event in August.
As the oldest and largest provider of professional arts in education programs in the state, Arts for Learning works with more than 60 teaching artists who provide performances, workshops and residencies to schools, libraries, parks and community organizations. Arts for Learning reaches more than 61,000 Indiana children and youth every year.
