FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

In partnership with Thomas Gregg Neighborhood School, Arts for Learning Indiana is excited to present “Cloud Vibrations” a multi-sensory outdoor art exhibit at Re:Public, a Near Eastside Community Artspace. On display December 19 – January 23, this collaborative art installation designed by Visual Artist Sofiya Inger and Musician Dianna Davis, combines student artwork and sound recordings to create “vibrations” to build community and positive thoughts. Through the merging of real and virtual communication techniques, the artists have composed a unique experience that captures the imaginative elements of clouds and vibrations.

In November, Inger and Davis, who are also roster Teaching Artists with Arts for Learning, held individual virtual workshops for Thomas Gregg students to introduce them to the project. Students were provided art kits by Arts for Learning to create transparent colorful “windows” that Inger combined into a collective piece which will be visible through the Re:Public Artspace windows. In addition, Davis collected audio/video recordings from over 200 students singing an individual music note to create a collective recording to display on a video screen at Re:Public. The audio video display will be motion activated by visitors who approach the building to view the artwork through the windows.
